Kernel Panic
A downloadable game
I was playing Megabonk over Christmas and wanted to see if I could make a similar game with my own direction/theme/flavor, rebuilt using only my description of gameplay and research on Godot/game development technologies.
It is absolutely no where near as good as Megabonk, and is not meant to compete in any way. This was a for fun project that I was building to see if it was possible. It has many bugs, stupid choices, and broken decisions... but it was fun and I got to test it out on my Steamdeck with my son playtesting. Also added basic Multiplayer.
I am a developer with over 15 years of experience architecting and developing systems. I wanted to see what was possible if I leveraged agents as I would a team of developers, using each for their specific skills, in a field that was mostly new to me. I think I edited a few variables, other than that everything was generated based on direction provided in the form of chat, voice, image, or .md in order to provide the Agents with the correct instructions. From there it was a long iterative process, slowly targeting each feature until they were all in place. The key was reading what the agents were talking about, researching on the side, and learning myself so that I could use the right words.
Felt like I was programming a holodeck scenario in Start Trek, talking the computer through it.
